Texas Regulatory Agencies


The following Texas Agencies are responsible for the licensing and enforcement of various environmental regulations in the State of Texas:

Texas Department of State Health Services

Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) is the state agency responsible for most public health issues. Some of the departments regulating environmental issues include the following links.

The Asbestos Program of the TDSHS contains copies of the Texas Asbestos Regulations, licensing requirements, FAQ's, and lists of consultants, trainers, and contractors.

The TDSHS Mold Licensing Program contains copies of the Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules, FAQ's, licensing applications and requirements, and a list of licensed consultants, contractors, labs, and trainers.

The TDSHS Environmental Lead Program (ELP) website can provide you with information on the Texas lead regulations, certification requirements, applications, and a list of certified contractors and risk assessors.

 

Louisiana Regulatory Agencies


Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality(LDEQ) website provides information on a number of environmental compliance programs enforced within the State of Louisiana.

The LDEQ Asbestos and Lead page provides information on state requirements for Asbestos and Lead contractors and consultants.

The Louisiana Licensing Board for Contractors contains the requirements for performing Mold Remediation in the State of Louisiana.

US Environmental Protection Agency

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides a wealth of public as well as technical information on a number of environmental issues.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration

The US Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) is part of the Department of Labor. It's website contains information on all occupational safety and health regulations.

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This site is the leading federal site addressing cancer research and education. This site contains a very informative Fact Sheet on Asbestos Exposure.
